Switchi is a native macOS command palette for switching between running apps and their windows — like AltTab meets a command palette. Toggle it with a global hotkey (⌘E by default), fuzzy-search every open window across all Spaces, and switch, minimize, pin, close, or quit — by keyboard or by click. It lives in the menu bar with no Dock icon.

Cmd-Tab cycles between apps, not individual windows, so you still have to hunt for the right window after you land on an app. Mission Control shows every window but needs a trackpad gesture and a mouse click. Switchi searches windows directly and switches in a single step — type and press ↵, or click the tile. Accessibility is required to read window titles and to raise, minimize, or close windows. Screen Recording is optional and only used for live window thumbnails. Automation may be prompted on first use of the fallback backend. Switchi explains each permission before the OS prompt and links straight to the right System Settings pane — and on a fresh install, reaching for a window action before the grant lands brings up the steps, the deep link, and an “I've granted it” re-check rather than silently dismissing the palette onto the wrong window.

Completely. Switchi runs entirely on your Mac — there are no accounts, no cloud sync, no trackers, and no ads. The renderer is context-isolated with a sandboxed preload, and all native data is validated at the IPC boundary and treated as untrusted.

Yes. Switchi is code signed and notarized by Apple, which allows macOS Gatekeeper to verify the app is trusted and unchanged. On first launch, Gatekeeper may show a standard prompt — that's normal and confirms the app is verified. You never need to bypass Gatekeeper or run unsafe commands.

Switchi does keep a local Statistics dialog you can open yourself: lifetime switches and summons, your median summon-to-action time, a day streak, a 30-day trend, the apps you switch to most, keyboard vs mouse, and the hours you switch in. Every figure is counted or measured — there's deliberately no invented “time saved” number. Window titles are never recorded, only per-app counts and names, and Reset erases the lot.
