Is it safe to download?

Yes. Switchi is code signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS Gatekeeper can verify it hasn't been tampered with. The renderer is context-isolated with a sandboxed preload and no Node access, and every payload from the native helper is validated at the IPC boundary and treated as untrusted. Switchi runs entirely on your Mac — no accounts, no cloud sync, no trackers, no ads.

What will Gatekeeper show on first launch?

macOS may show a standard prompt the first time you open Switchi. That's normal for signed and notarized apps — it's macOS confirming the app is verified by Apple. You don't need to bypass Gatekeeper or run any Terminal commands.

Why does Switchi ask for Accessibility permission?

Accessibility is required to read window titles and to raise, minimize, or close windows on your behalf. Switchi explains the permission before the macOS prompt and links straight to the right System Settings pane. Without it, the palette can't act on your windows.

Do I need to grant Screen Recording?

Only if you want live window thumbnails. Screen Recording is optional — it's used solely to render a live preview of each window in the grid. Skip it and Switchi falls back to app icons; everything else works exactly the same.

Will it slow down my Mac?

No. Switchi is menu-bar only with no Dock icon and stays idle until you summon it. It reads the window list from macOS on demand and keeps its footprint minimal — designed to stay out of your way until you press the hotkey.
